PADUCAH, KY, UNITED STATES, August 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Quilters from across the country will have the opportunity to learn from one of the industry’s leading educators this fall as Handi Quilter, the world’s premier manufacturer of longarm quilting machines, brings four days of immersive longarm quilting classes to The National Quilt Museum October 21–24, 2026.
Presented in partnership with Handi Quilter, the workshop series offers hands-on instruction for quilters of all experience levels—from those exploring longarm quilting for the first time to current machine owners looking to expand their skills. Participants may attend in person at The National Quilt Museum in Paducah or register for a virtual option and learn from anywhere.
The four-day series will be taught by nationally recognized Handi Quilter Educator Nicholas Turcan, founder of Mystery Stitch Designs. Through a combination of demonstrations and hands-on practice, participants will learn longarm fundamentals, free-motion quilting, ruler work, creative quilting techniques, and design strategies for borders, blocks, and backgrounds. Two optional project classes will provide opportunities to apply newly developed skills.
“One of the most rewarding parts of our mission is helping people discover new skills and new creative possibilities,” said Becky Glasby, Director of Learning & Engagement at The National Quilt Museum. “These workshops give quilters a rare opportunity to learn directly from a Handi Quilter educator in a supportive, hands-on environment. We want participants to leave not only with new techniques, but with the confidence and inspiration to take their quilting even further.”
Each day features two three-hour classes, held from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a lunch break between sessions. In-person classes are intentionally limited to 12 participants, with two students sharing each HQ Amara Longarm machine, ensuring personalized instruction and ample hands-on experience.
Longarm machines and sewing supplies will be provided by Handi Quilter, while fabric and batting are generously supplied by Paradise Pick’n & Stitch’n. No previous longarm quilting experience is required.
Participants may register for either of two two-day sessions or combine both options for the complete four-day experience.
