‘AI Jesus: The Secret of the Kingdom Chip’ debuts worldwide on digital platforms Oct. 30, as a mysterious AI challenges what humanity believes.
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, October 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — An artificial intelligence avatar claims to be Jesus. No one can prove or disprove it. That is the premise of ‘AI Jesus: The Secret of the Kingdom Chip,’ making its worldwide streaming debut October 30, 2026, as 52% of Americans say they are more concerned than excited about AI, according to a Pew Research Center survey, and Pope Leo XIV has devoted his first encyclical to the technology.
In an age of AI-generated everything, this film was made the human way: real actors, practical elements, and AI used only for visual effects.
Written by DJ Perry, who also stars as AI Jesus, and directed by Anthony Hornus (‘Silent Night in Algona’ and ‘Man’s Best Friend’), the film follows a powerful AI program whose claim leaves scientists, believers, nonbelievers, and skeptics at a standstill. Is it a miracle? A technological illusion? Or something truly beyond explanation or comprehension?
This isn’t your grandmother’s priests-and-nuns movie. It’s a quirky, unpredictable, big-hearted look at faith and spirituality in the age of AI and quantum supercomputing, asking the question we’re all facing: Are we ready?
Rather than presenting technology as humanity’s enemy, the film turns the question back toward people. When technological capability races ahead of certainty, the search for truth comes down to something no machine can easily calculate: what do human beings choose to believe?
“I wanted to ask the question people are already whispering: if a machine said it was God, what would we do? The answer says more about us than about the machine,” said DJ Perry, writer and star of the film.
“After reading DJ’s script with an open mind, I quickly accepted his offer to direct,” said Hornus. He added, “The story’s unique, combining the timeliness of today’s headlines with the timelessness of humanity dating back to Genesis and everything in between. It’s ahead of the current cinematic curve, a genre-bending film exploring the unfathomable speed of today’s technological advances in relation to our varied beliefs, spiritual or otherwise, as human beings.”
“Technology may continue to change at extraordinary speed, but our humanity still belongs to us,” said Steve Bulzoni, president of BMG-Global. “At a time when people are hearing almost every day about what artificial intelligence may change, threaten, or replace, ‘AI Jesus: The Secret of the Kingdom Chip’ gives audiences another way into that conversation. This film doesn’t ask people to fear AI. It asks us to think about things technology cannot decide for us: faith, morality, truth, connection, and what we choose to believe.”
The film arrives amid measurable public unease. In the same Pew Research Center survey, conducted in June and published in August 2026, 71% of U.S. adults said they believe AI will lead to fewer jobs in the United States over the next 20 years. The subject has reached the Vatican as well: Pope Leo XIV’s first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, published in May, is devoted to safeguarding the human person in the age of artificial intelligence.
The ensemble includes Oscar-nominated Mary Badham (‘To Kill a Mockingbird’) as the voice of Nurse O’Connor; Taylor Nichols (‘Jurassic Park III’) as John Tager; Michael Rene Walton (‘Prisoner of War’) as Father Michael O’Dea; Melissa Anschutz (‘Wild Faith Christmas’) as Sister Pam; David Gries (‘Harsens Island Revenge’) as Henrik; Curran Jacobs (‘Silent Night in Algona’) as Miles Anderson; John Mashni (‘Rom Coms Must Die’) as Father Diaz; and Erika Hoveland (‘Best Years Gone’) as Greta.
