Seasoned Sports Business and Philanthropy Executive to Lead Premier Sports Sustainability Alliance
PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Today, the Green Sports Alliance announced the appointment of Jeff Pacini as its new Executive Director. In this role, Pacini will steer the premier global coalition of sports team and venue executives, alongside sustainability leaders, leveraging the cultural power of sports to advance healthy, sustainable communities worldwide.
Pacini was selected following an extensive national executive search conducted by Prodigy Search. He joins the Green Sports Alliance with over two decades of leadership experience at the intersection of sports management, strategic marketing, and mission-driven philanthropy.

Pacini’s distinguished career spans senior leadership roles across major sports and philanthropic organizations. He began his career with the NBA’s Global Marketing Partnerships group and the Cleveland Cavaliers, later serving as Vice President of Business Development for the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. His non-profit and executive track record includes serving as National Development Director for Cycling at the American Heart Association and General Manager/Vice President of Business Development for Legends Global. Most recently, Pacini founded ion Philanthropy, providing strategic advisory services in fundraising, marketing, and data analytics to non-profits and sports entities.
Pacini holds an MBA and a Master of Sports Administration from Ohio University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from The College of Wooster. Recognized for his leadership in the industry, he was named to Crain’s Cleveland Business Forty Under 40.
