A 46-year-old man has died after being shot outside the P.T. Barnum public housing complex in Bridgeport early Sunday morning. The victim has been identified as Johnny L. Nesmith.
Bridgeport police were alerted to the incident when they received multiple 911 calls shortly after 1 a.m. Responding officers discovered Nesmith unresponsive at the scene. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
